Our Story
The house of Dankyi Mireku
Accra, Ghana
We are a Ghanaian fashion house making clothing that is finished by hand, made in limited number, and intended to be kept.

The beginning
A cloth, kept
The house began with a length of hand-woven cloth kept in a family trunk in Kumasi — too beautiful to cut, too meaningful to leave folded. Dankyi Mireku was founded to answer that tension: cloth should be worn.

The craft
Weavers and tailors
We work directly with weaving families in the Volta Region and with a small team of tailors in Accra. Nothing is outsourced anonymously. Every panel can be traced to a loom and every seam to a pair of hands.

The woman
Presence, not noise
The Dankyi Mireku woman is not dressed by the room she enters. She chooses few pieces, keeps them long, and passes them on. Our tagline — Wrapped in Elegance — is a description of how she moves, not how she is decorated.
Values
What the house holds to
Hand work
Beading, finishing and pressing are done by hand, never by shortcut.
Limited number
Small runs. Some pieces exist only once.
Long life
Constructed and lined so a piece survives a decade of wearing.
